HM Forces children and support offered

If your child has a parent who is, or lives with, a member of the Armed Forces then please let us know, using the form below,  as we offer a wide variety of support and activities for HM Forces children.

Schools receive additional funding to provide any extra support and to lessen the effects of frequent changes of school and separation from a serving parent deployed on operations.  This funding provides us with the opportunity to focus on additional social, emotional and academic support if required.

We are part of Pompey's Military Kids a joint initiative set up by the Naval Families Federation (NFF) and Portsmouth City Council (PCC), working with representatives from various schools across the city.  The Cluster Group supports Service children in a number of different ways and local schools now share good ideas and best practice through collaborative working.  Events and activities are organised by NFF and PCC which, with the schools support, bring Service children together, to encourage them to interact, make new friends and support each other.  This means that there is now a network of young people who are helping and supporting each other within the wider community

It is really important that we work together to support children, particularly when a parent is on deployment.  Please ensure that you inform us when this happens so that all staff at Court Lane can keep an ‘extra eye’ on your child and ensure we provide support if needed.
